UKAEA and subsequently AEA Technology funded collaborative work with HSE in the 1970s to 1990s. Numerous reports were published describing the funded work, including dispersion modelling of releases of ammonia. FLADIS
The FLADIS field experiments were undertaken to investigate dispersion of liquefied ammonia in respect of the near-source aerosol jet, the intermediate heavy gas dispersion phase, and the downstream transition to passive dispersion.
